What is functional medicine and how is it different from regular medicine?
Functional medicine investigates the root causes of chronic illness — gut health, hormones, inflammation, nutrition and lifestyle factors — rather than just managing symptoms. Our IFM-trained practitioner Tonia Peachey combines functional medicine with osteopathy for a whole-body approach, available at Glenfield, Orewa and via virtual consult across New Zealand.
Can acupuncture help with anxiety, stress and sleep problems?
Yes. Acupuncture positively influences the autonomic nervous system, reduces cortisol and improves sleep quality. Our acupuncturists offer Traditional Chinese Medicine and integrative acupuncture at both our Glenfield (North Shore) and Orewa (Hibiscus Coast) Auckland clinics.
What massage therapy is available at your Auckland clinics?
We offer deep tissue massage, sports massage, relaxation massage, remedial massage and pregnancy massage at both Glenfield and Orewa. Our team includes a Level 7-qualified, Southern Cross Easy-Claim registered therapist — the highest massage qualification in New Zealand. Multilingual consultations available in Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese at our Orewa clinic.
What nutrition services are available and where?
Nutrition consultations are available at our Orewa clinic with our holistic nutritionist — covering gut health, energy, weight management, hormones and immunity. Functional medicine nutrition is available at both Glenfield and Orewa through Tonia Peachey, and via virtual consult across New Zealand.
Do you offer physio at Premier Wellness Auckland?
Yes. ACC-registered physio is available at our Orewa clinic now and launches at our Glenfield (North Shore) clinic in June 2026. Treatment includes manual therapy, dry needling, exercise prescription and progressive rehabilitation for sports injuries, post-surgical recovery and pregnancy-related pain. How many treatment sessions will I need?
It varies by condition. Some patients notice significant improvement after one or two visits; others benefit from a structured plan over several weeks. Your practitioner will discuss a realistic schedule and review your progress at every appointment — we never over-treat.
